THE TACKITT CHILDREN

*VICTIMS OF THE 1857 MOUNTAIN  MEADOWS MASSACRE*

 


MARION TACKITT was the third son of Martin D. and Cynthia Tackitt, born abt. 1837 in Pope County, Arkansas. He, his widowed mother Cynthia Tackitt, his oldest brother Pleasant Tackitt, his oldest sister Eloah Angeline (Tackitt) Jones, and 4 of his 5 other siblings died in the Mountain Meadows Massacre. Marion Tackitt was 20 years old when he died.

SEABORN TACKITT was the fourth son of Martin D. and Cynthia Tackitt, born abt. 1839 in Pope County, Arkansas. He, his widowed mother Cynthia Tackitt, his oldest brother Pleasant Tackitt, his oldest sister Eloah Angeline (Tackitt) Jones, and 4 of his 5 other siblings died in the Mountain Meadows Massacre. He was 18 years old when he died.

(His name was Seaborn.)

MATILDA TACKITT was the second daughter of Martin D. and Cynthia Tackitt, born abt. 1841 in Pope County, Arkansas. She, her widowed mother Cynthia Tackitt, her oldest brother Pleasant Tackitt, her oldest sister Eloah Angeline (Tackitt) Jones, and 4 of her 5 other siblings died in the Mountain Meadows Massacre. Matilda Tackitt was 16 years old when she died.

JAMES M. TACKITT was the fifth son of  Martin D. and Cynthia Tackitt, born abt. 1843 in Pope County, Arkansas. He, his widowed mother Cynthia Tackitt, his oldest brother Pleasant Tackitt, his oldest sister Eloah Angeline (Tackitt) Jones, and 4 of his 5 other siblings died in the Mountain Meadows Massacre. He was 14 years old when he died.

He was 12 years old when he died.
